Notre Dame 41, Rocky Top 21

Well, well, well...this weekend sure did have its array of pleasantries. Starting with an abnormal warm front in North Quad, we were able to show those all those people orange wearing turkey's a thing or two about throwing footballs and jumping in big pile of leaves.

And just as the night was sitting lame, Matthew Tober tried to trick me into showing up this weekend (Not the trickiest fox, but good enough) - good enough to jump start the evening. And, as a result, we adopted him as one of our own! He was here, sure enough, helping us throw a party with Walnuts at Kat's place with us...the only one this year (for a minute), fending off two macho-tacos walking around campus with their cowboy hats, leading us through the trees to the noise of the Drumline, and played body guard for Hummer and I as we walked through the ghetto of South Bend. A trip many wouldn't risk, a marathon walk(tired feet) home from Madison; not Wisconsin. We did make it back just in time for more delicious treats - pizza. A pleasant treat for a tired Hummer. After the Pringles and Ice Cream bars we were still thankful for the pizza left on our doorstep. He was only here for a day and a half, but we ran into just enough of Notre Dame before we sent him back to Dayton - and just enough time to introduce him to my two favorite uncles - Carlo, and well... Carlo!!

We introduced him to the Notre Dame way of life...a lot of walking, sleeping in the womb, and waking up to early morning techno dance parties. There's no way we were going to miss prime tailgating hours of the day with the karate kid dancing around. And then...straight to the game and push-ups. He may not have made it past halftime, but thats okay, maybe next time! We were only watching time pass as a terribly boring Saturday night awaited us, just like old times. But, luckily, we were rescued by Johnny Damon, his first lip, and his gang consisting of Dags and 10 episodes of Saved by the Bell!!

Oh yeah, and during this whole time, we did beat those Tennessee Volunteers! Too bad they aren't considered good anymore....but consider it just another win leading to our BCS bowl game victory!

Yet, i am still disappointed I never woke up to Joe Payne sleeping on my couch, or the fact that I never saw him at all.
