Caged Badger's Fall in Heartbreaker

After a narrow escape in the round of 32, we knew we had to do something extra to prepare for our next round. So, we had a team dinner and walk through before our meeting with our next opponent. We ate spaghetti while watching our motivational videos at Ben and Beck's place before heading over to Rolf's for our walk through. But, what we didn't expect on this night was the beast of a man in Hal Muner Jr.
The Caged Badgers met there biggest challenge yet in Hal. Seriously, most humans don't grow to be 6'8 and 250 lbs like Hal, product of Strose in Perrysburg, Ohio (snap! respect!). So, in the round of 16 we ran into Hal and his four smaller basketball friends, and simply, we had no answer for the beast. Even at halftime, down 8-11, our token coaches could not establish an effective gameplan for the second half. And without the support of our superfans, we didn't stand a chance. But, with Jack in attendence snapping photos, i felt right at home and finally started hitting some shots. We tied it up at 19-19 with the ball, but even under Jack's watchful eye, the Caged Badgers fell 21-19. With Marcus, Ben, and Beck all retiring from the Caged Badgers and Bookstore Basketball, it is now up to Scott Smith and I to step it up next year.
