Day 17: Paris, France

P-Dog woke us up nice and early today because he was too excited to sleep. Todays plans: Roland Garros - the French Open, tennis! As usual, Rohn disappeared to use the internet, and Pelner refused to spend his day in Paris watching tennis and toured the city instead.
We ended up getting tickets to Court 1, which is actually only the 3rd best court...very deceiving those Frenchies! But anyway, since Smeagol's empty promise of crepes fell through, we started the day with some amazing hot dogs in baguettes that i will never forget. We watched Tommy Haas play first (who is an absolute beast), then watched Smeagol's girlfriend Kirilenko, and finally got to see Lleyton Hewitt play the last match on our court. The whole time it was really cold, yet Smeagol still managed to get sun burned. Either way though, Nic may or may not have understood one thing about the whole day. I doubt he has or ever will watch tennis again in his life. After another foot long hot dog baguette and 8 hours of tennis later, we returned back to our room to find John trimming his mustache over my toothbrush. And from there we played our card games and headed to the bars. Kat managed to pick some fights and started trying to beat up these "fat girls" she didn't like for some reason by elbowing them, I collected some quality glasses, and Smeagol retreated early suffering from sleepiness (surprise, surprise).
And as the story goes, Smeagol managed to make it back to the hostel by himself, stumble inside and grab the keys to the room. He then managed to make it to his door and preceded to start banging and yelling to wake up Pelner and Nic so they could open the door for him. Slight problem - Pelner and Nic were still out, and even better - Smeagol had the only key to the room in his hand, so they couln't possibly be inside. So, anyway, after who knows how long after he woke up the entire hostel, the man from the front desk appeared, took the key from Smeagols hand and opened the door. And Smeagol finally slept.
